Square Terminal is a complete point-of-sale device in one hand-held unit: it takes the payment, prints the receipt, and needs nothing else on the counter to do it.

It accepts the payment types Canadian customers actually present — Interac chip and PIN, contactless NFC cards, and phone wallets including Apple Pay and Google Pay — so there is no need to keep a second reader for the awkward cases.

The unit is cordless, with a built-in battery sized for a full trading day. That makes it as workable for table service and markets as it is on a fixed counter.
